After two unexplained miscarriages and months of trying to get pregnant again, I was turned onto acupuncture from a friend but didn't expect much from the experience. I thought, "I'll give this a try to humor her!" To my surprise, my world really turned around, all thanks to acupuncture. Within the first three months (doing acupuncture 2-3 times a month to start) my cycle was more normal and "on time" than it had been in years. I was actually able to track my fertility instead of guessing as to what my body was doing. The acupuncture really regulated me, but that was only the first step in the whole fertility process. Regularity was one thing, but getting pregnant was another! I would attend sessions before ovulation and I really feel that gave my body a jump start to ovulate and was preparing my body for a baby (ie strengthening the lining, etc). Within 6 months of beginning acupuncture I was finally pregnant again! I continued to get acupuncture throughout my pregnancy, especially in the beginning. It was great for the nausea and my energy levels. Went on to have a fairly uneventful pregnancy and delivery.
When we started thinking about baby #2, I knew acupuncture would be part of my attack plan. I began acupuncture (twice a month) when my little girl was around 4 months old. I was still breastfeeding, so not expecting my cycle to return for a good while. To my surprise, my cycle returned only two months later. (my daughter being 6 months old and still BF). I was doing acupuncture religiously every other week and with careful tracking I was pregant in another two months! We are anxiously awaiting our second baby and I feel acupuncture has given us this opportunity.
Elisa Wong has been AMAZING! I just love her calm demeaner and positive attitude. She always has a smile on her face, but better yet, she's GREAT at acupuncture and really knows what she is doing. While working on all our fertility issues, she also has eased my back pain and cured my colds, among other ailments:) I would (and do!) recommend her to anyone, especially those looking for help with fertility. Thanks, Elisa!
